Airports

Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) is the airport we recommend. BWI has a shuttle to the metro rail service that can deliver you to anywhere in the DC area. The reason we recommend BWI is because it is the newest, least-crowded terminal, with the most stress-free arrivals and departures.

If it is cheaper for you, you could fly in to Dulles International Airport (IAD) and ride a bus and use the metro to get to your hotel or to the wedding/reception site. Dulles often has the cheapest flights in and out of the DC region, however it also tends towards the most crowded and stressful arrivals and departures.

You can also use Reagan National Airport (DCA), however it is not known for cheap flights. It does, however, have the easiest access to the metro rail system, with its own metro stop rather than a shuttle to the nearest stop. If you do use DCA, please be aware that the correct way to refer to DCA is "National," not "Reagan." If you call it "Reagan," the locals will make fun of you. You've been warned.

Metro Train Services

If arriving at BWI, then you will want to take the B30 Express Bus to the Greenbelt Metro Station to utilize the metro to get to your hotel or to the wedding. You can see more information about how the airport connects to the metro train service by clicking on the pink, highlighted link.

If arriving at IAD, you will want to take either the Washington Flyer to the West Falls Church Station, OR MetroBus 5A to the Rosslyn Station. For more information about these routes, please click here.

If arriving at DCA, you can connect directly to the metrorail system from the terminal.

For guests relying on public transportation (Metrorail) after arrival, we will be providing transportation between the wedding/reception site and the Glenmont Metro station on the Red Line.

To learn more about riding the metro, you can utilize the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority website. On the right-hand side, you can type in your destination based on the time of day and date. Keep in mind the hours are very favorable, giving you more time to be out and about if you want to tour the area before or after the wedding.

The wedding ceremony and reception are actually 1 mile from the Glenmont Metro Station stop, which is on the red line.

The recommended hotels are close to the Silver Spring Metro Station, which is centered in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. This is close (easy walking distance) to a wide variety of restaurants, dry cleaning, barber shop, pharmacy, and Giant grocery store. And also the bride & groom's home. The metro system will also grant our guests convenient access to the wedding/reception site, and to all the sights of Washington, DC should you wish to see the city while you are here.

Hotel

Because we can't get a handle on how many rooms our guests will be getting, and because we want to allow our guests to choose their own accomodations for their trip, we have not arranged for a group rate at any of the area hotels. However, we do have some recommendations listed below for reasonably-priced hotels that are comfortable, safe, and conveniently located for this event.

Where we recommend:

Courtyard Marriott - Silver Spring, MD

Crowne Plaza - SIlver Spring, MD

We can tell you where NOT to stay! Here is our off-limit list, due to poor quality and high crime rates in these hotels. If you stay at one of these hotels you do so AT YOUR OWN RISK:

The Days Inn - Silver Spring, MD

Travelodge - Silver Spring, MD

Red Roof Inn - Rockville, MD

Ramada Limited - SIlver Spring, MD
